New Year, New Blog, New Um.....

So I started a blog on tumblr, go here if you're curious. It's more of a me only blog. Just quick quotes, and pictures about me. I just got word I made Deans List. First time ever! I got a 3.89 last term. I am rounding it to a 4.0 though. Because I wasn't aware you got "A-" in college. I enrolled for 24 credits next term, Pray for me. Chris is great though for supporting me through all this. I am excited to get through this term, and be able to relax a little next term. I also have a follow up appointment coming up on February 1st, with my OBGYN/Fertility Specialist. I will hopefully be getting the green light, to start trying for a baby again. I can hardly wait! It's more exciting than Christmas! Chris is staying busy, and I am resting up before the term starts. I am also doing a few parties, and bridal shows for Jamberry Nails, so that will be fun. And there are possible wedding bells in our future, seems like my little Sis is getting pretty serious about marrying her BF. We will see! Other than that, not much to update. Until next time....

Birthday & Bedrest

Well I should start with the bed-rest, huh....

Dec 5th, 2011-I woke up a little nervous, and Chris drove me to OHSU to await surgery. I checked in a few hours early, and Chris helped me pee. HA! It was difficult with an IV a robe that exposed my backside. It was a quick surgery. I remember being put under, and then 2 hours later I remember coming out of the fog. I apparently came out using sign language. No one knew ASL so I don't know if it was correct or not....But Chris drove me home that day, picked up my pharmacy (I am taking alot of meds)-and Chris began the difficult task of playing nurse. According to my family, I am a bit of a handful in these situations. I passed out early that night, and the next day was alot of the same. By Wednesday I was up and feeling better. I was still tender and tired but better. The Doctor told Chris the surgery was a touchdown, and it went exactly as planned. I did the math today and Chris and I can start trying Feb 13th, Valentines Baby!! ;) I want to celebrate...in Vegas. We shall see.

Dec 9th, 2011- I woke up..25. It was a good day. I call it the year of Zebra. I had a beautiful zebra print cake, got lots of zebra print presents, and had a yummy dinner at Roadhouse. It was a good birthday, and hopefully the last birthday before I become a mommy! Crossing our fingers!

So...
where shall I begin. Hmph. Chris and I started trying to conceive two years ago, we felt like we were ready. And we were excited! Here we are two years later still no baby. I have been going through test, after test to figure out what exactly was going on, and finally after a year we know! I had an MRI done back in August and the MRI showed something on my Uteras, so my OBGYN sent me to OHSU for a specialist to review my case. I waited months to meet this guy and I finally did on Tuesday. Dr. David Lee. My Hero. I have what's called a Uterine Septum. Click here to learn more. But mine is so big, it actually goes down into my cervix, and has been preventing me from even being able to conceive. So this is fantastic news! We now know that I can have kids, I just need a little surgery to move things along! I about lost it when the scheduling nurse called me Friday and told me I was scheduled for December 5th. I consider it a unique birthday present, since my birthday is the 9th. I have a long road ahead still, 6 weeks of recovery time, then another month after that of waiting to start trying again but come Valentines Day we are at all systems go! Its unreal that this is all happening. I am beside myself with excitement! So pray for a smooth surgery, and pray for a smooth recovery, I sure will! This Thanksgiving I will be thankful for so much, and hopefully next year at Thanksgiving I will be thankful for a beautiful baby :)

It seems like every time I get on here, I make mention about how long it's been since my last post, and BLAH BLAH BLAH...so again here I am playing catch up!

Here are the updates:

Christopher- Oh my do I love this man! He is amazing. He has been working for the County Medical Examiner's Office and it's blessed our lives in more ways than we can count! Chris has the best co workers, and his bosses take such good care of him! I love getting to pop in and say hi, because everyone he works with are so nice! Chris's job has allowed for me to quit my job, and start subbing with was really nice! He has also had alot more time at home, so he has been doing alot of work on the house. Our carpet has gotten pretty beat up so Chris has been putting in new floors, and I have been painting here and there. So far the downstairs has been painted, our guest 1/2 bathband our master bedroom, next we want to paint our master bathroom, and then hopefully we will have a kiddo to paint a room for! Chris and I have been trying really hard to have a baby, and hopefully we will be blessed with one....or four ha! Chris is going to be an amazing Father someday, I can't wait to see it! He is already a great Dad to Cosmo and Apollo. Our little babies seem to be doing very well, and after our scare with Cosmo this Summer, we are very happy he made a turn for the better. We just weren't ready to say good bye to our little guy!

Me-As I mentioned, i quit my job. I realized I could use more flexibility, and so I applied to be a sub in the district I live in. I haven't gotten any calls yet, but I am sure I will soon enough. I have been overwhelmed, in a good way, in my Teaching program. I am loving all the time I get to be in the classroom, and look forward to my first teaching opportunity in February. Also next week I will be meeting with an OBGYN specialist who will hopefully give me some answers about why we haven't gotten pregnant. So far we haven't found any reason we shouldn't other than a possible Uteran Septum, so I will find out if thats the culprit and hopefully with surgery we can move past it and get a bun in my oven! Chris and I are really hopeful that things will work out.

I did just want to add, that I am extremly Thankful for my husband, our little family of four. (Apollo & Cosmo) These boys are everything to me, and I love them with all my heart! Chris makes me a better person everyday, and I am just so grateful he thought highly enough of me to make me his wife. I am a very lucky girl. So I hope this meets all my friends and family well. We love you all!

Summer

Ok,
It's been forever! So I guess it's time to finally catch up on this thing. I will start with our two wonderful little boys. In July, we were overwhelmed with the possibility of having to put Cosmo down. He had become very sick suddenly and was loosing wait at a rapid pace. When took him home and said lots of prayers, and he has had some sort of miraculous recovery! We have been so blessed that he turned things around! He seems to back to him self, and we are so happy. We just weren't ready to see him leave us yet.

Apollo, has actually been putting on some serious dog meat! We have started calling him our chunkey monkey, he is still a tiny little greyhound, but he just seems so much bigger because Cosmo is so much smaller. He continues to be a sweet and loving little guy.

Chris had been loving his job, every single second of it! He is actually training this week to get certified as a Death Investigator. He has really been much happier with this change :) For those who don't know Chris was hired as a Medical Examiner for Clackamas County. Most people ask if that's like CSI-well yes, but Chris doesn't do autopsies. He is really fascinated with it, and so am I! He works a lot of overtime right now, but that will change once they switch to there new schedule in September.

So as for me....in July I got a phone call letting me know my request for fewer hours had been honored, and I was being moved to an Elementary School, woohoo! Well then it got even better because in August I got a phone call/letter saying I had been accepted into Eastern Oregon's Elementary Education Program, which means I am on track to getting my teaching license! It's all been very exciting, and overwhelming at the same time! I just can't wait to start everything in September!

One day I hope to have a nice comfy classroom of my own....and while I am working towards that I am taking mental notes, taking pictures, and writing a list of my Teacher MUST HAVES .

For example these sweet babies, and Teachers best friend, when they are on there feet all day (oh and disclaimer.....I am not going to be an English or Grammar teacher, because I still struggle with the correct form of they're, there and their. So there.....)

Another little treat I desire is this bad boy.....Schools these days don't have die cut machines like they used to, to make fun bulletin boards, and displays, so I would like to have one of these puppies to help add the cute little touches I think makes a classroom more inviting :)

And lastly.....for now at least, If I could pull it off, I would love a workspace like this.....HA!

The Mister and The Wife

Well-What a month March has been!
First off, Chris got a new job! Let me introduce Clackamas Counties newest MEDICAL EXAMINER!

To say this job is a blessing in a HUGE under-state-ment, but it is. HUGE! We are grateful. So after this tid bit of grand news.....

....Chris turned 27! Yay!! And I had this amazing cake made for him by Lisa Cook (whom I swam with in high school)- it was so great! And the cake itself was amazing! Yummy chocolate!

We went out for dinner with family and friends to Paola's Pizza in Sandy, and Chris had a lot of fun. The next day we were planning to leave for the beach. That was March 11th. The day of the earthquake in Japan. So we got lots of calls about the Tsunami Warning along the Coast-but after watching the news, and calling our hotel we decided it was fine to head out. We got there and of course everything was fine. Saturday the weather at the coast was exceptionally beautiful. Here are a few shots from the beach.

We had a great time. And we got back just in time for a crazy storm that knocked out our power and almost our entire counties power for over 8 hours! It was a little scary, but also a little fun. We lit candles, and went for a drive in the dark. It ended up being fun!

We had a little bit of bittersweet news regarding Cosmo:

Turns out Cosmo is diabetic. Which is good because now we can get him some treatment, and stop him from peeing in the house everywhere, but sad because he now has to get shots twice a day, and I worry about him even more than I did before.
Poor guy-he just hasn't been given a break, but we love him so much, and we will continue to take care of him the best we can.

As for me, I finished Winter Term, it was a hard term, and I am currently on Spring Break, but I barely made it. I turned in my application to Eastern Oregon University, and am waiting on my (hopeful) acceptance in to the Early Childhood Education Program. I am planning on starting a leave in September to make room for my classes, and I can't wait!

Over all we have had a great month, March we have been pretty happy with you!

So here are a few of my recent projects....It will be a miracle if I pass all my classes this term :/ Any who!

This first pic is of my growing photo wall in my family room. I am still adding to it, but I love it so far, It's changed a lot already!

These are some shelves I hung all by my self (pat on back), and I put them up to house some seasonal/holiday decor, and my collection of Willow Tree People. I just started adding my St Patty's and need to dig out my easter. I love having them up though!

This is the seasonal scrapbook frame I have on my shelves. I started in July with and American Flag page and have just kept it going. This month my theme is St Patty's but more importantly it's My Misters Bday!! I sure do love that man and I can't to spoil him on his special day :)

Here is the final project: Don't you just love it!! I am so excited to put it up in our master bedroom.

I stretched the fabric over canvas...

...and stapled it to the canvas using my heavy duty EasyShot stapler.

...I also attached my letters by stapling them onto the canvas from the back, and it worked really well. I am sure there are many ways to attach the letters...

and these are the prints of fabric I used. LOVE IT!

The start of the New Years

Like every year I have lots of GOALS:

*blog more often
*go to the gym more often
*lose like 40 lbs...yes 40...
*this year, we want to atleast make a baby (because if we get pregnant after April the baby will be born next year)
*save money
*eat healthier
*cut back on the caffeine
*start composting, stop wasting

the list goes on... and on.... and well you get the point.

I am back in school full time and there is a little light at the end of the tunnel. I am applying to Eastern Oregon's Undergrad program to finish my bachelor degree in Education. I am pretty excited. Plus, my wonderful husband decided that I can go to work part time next school year (in September) so that I can quickly and promptly earn that degree. I am super excited, it just means i am one step closer to my very own classroom! I can't wait!

I feel like this year is going to be a good one, in all aspects. In the way of school, work, our family, and in the way of Chris. Chris is officially back on the firefighting market. After a brief moment of concern Chris and I had an amazing conversation about his plans for the future and we were able to realize what Chris truly loves and wants to do for a career (previous thoughts-teacher, chiro, & nurse). He wants to be a fireman, so he is officially back to testing. He has Seattle, Vancouver, and eventually Portland to test for. All are great opportunities. I am proud of him. I know he will do great things :)

So here's to the New Year. I hope it's a good one!

December Snow

Here are a few more pictures of the snow we had the week after Christmas. It was quite the sight! Very Beautiful. We ended up with about 6 or 7 inches, and my truck was buried for a week! But I still loved it!

My birthday was fantastic. We had our friends and family have dinner with us at Sweet Tomato's and then we came back to our house for cake and ice cream. It was so good to have every one come over to spend my birthday with me. After that Chris, and I went to the beach with Tim & Jenn. (Tim has a birthday a little after mine). It was really nice on Friday, the beach was calm and quite, but then Saturday and Sunday it was crazy! It was sooo rainy and the wind was super strong, but we just went shopping and hung out in our condo playing games instead. It was really fun! Chris and I also had an amazing Christmas! We kept it pretty simple to, maybe thats why it was so nice. We spent Christmas Eve here in Sandy at our place and we had my family come over. I made a very traditional meal with ham, and potatoes, and lots of sparkling cider! It was delicious! We exchanged gifts and then ended the night with my Dad playing his "fart" app on his iPhone, and all of us in tears! It was so fun. We spent Christmas day with Chris' family in Gresham at their house. We had another delicious traditional meal and just watched old movies. It was nice, but it was pretty quick to. The week after Christmas Sandy got hit with a pretty big snow storm. Over night we had about 6 or 7 inches of snow, and I became officially home bound for a week. My truck was buried and the roads in our neighbor hood were frozen. It was beautiful though, I loved it! December

Catching up Again...Day 15-28

Seriously, who am I kidding! I am so bad at keeping our Blog updated, so here is another catch up session.

Day 15: Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.
Chris, That's an easy answer. "Chris" I could not live with out him, I tried. When Chris lived in Idaho for 6 months when we were first married it was so hard. I hated being apart from him, and now that he is home full time, I absolutely love it! I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband and I know that now especially. I love him.

Day 16: Someone or something you definitely could live without.
Um, same as above! I also couldn't live with out my boys Apollo and Cosmo. Those two little guys are my world. And I would do anything to keep them happy, healthy and safe.

Day 17: A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. Read it. Love it.

Day 18: Your views on gay marriage.
I don't think the government has the right to dictate who does or doesn't get married. Love is love is love.

Day 19: What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
I love my religion, and am grateful for my morals and standards. My religion led me to my husband, so again I love it. Politics, thats a whole other blog.

Day 20: Your views on drugs and alcohol.
Addicting. Not in a good way.

Day 21: (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?
Go to them. Besides I can't stay mad for long so I guess we would have already made up :)

Day 22: Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.
Dated certain people I guess...could have gone with out the drama.

Day 23: Something you wish you had done in your life.
Um, I have alot of things on my bucket list. Maybe a cruise. Hawaii was one of them but I crossed that off, woo hoo! Um, finish my masters for sure. Start a good job.

Day 24: Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs. (Just post the titles and artists and letter)
Maybe another day.

Day 25: The reason you believe you’re still alive today.
Ha! This is a good one, especially if you know my history. I am alive because of God and Heavenly Father, Thats why.

Day 26: Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?
Never. Even on my hardest days I have always felt like I have had something to live for.

Day 27: What’s the best thing going for you right now?
My marriage. It's amazing.

Day 28: What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?
I would be so happy. I would tell my husband in some huge way, and go pick out paint colors :)

Slackin!Day 4-Day 14.

I am behind, so here is my catch up for my 30 days of truth:
Day 4: Something you have to forgive someone for.
-I actually just checked this one of my list. I had a couple of friends from high school that our friendship had hit the fan. We didn't talk for awhile after some issues at work, and recently I sent messages to both of them basically wiping the slate clean. I just apologized to them for whatever I may have done to cause the issues, and told them I hope one day we can become friends again. I just think at some point you just have to forgive, forget and move on.

Day 5: Something you hope to do in your life.
-I hope I can inspire someone. I have had so many inspirational people in my life and I want to return the favor. I want to touch a child's heart at school, and inspire them to become a teacher.

Day 6: Something you hope you never have to do.
-I hope I never have to watch someone die. I think that would just be the hardest thing to do. It really freaks me out when I think about it.

Day 7: Someone who has made your life worth living for.
-This is absolutely my husband. He is the first person I have ever really wanted to live for. He gives me something to look forward to every day, and I am so happy to think someday we will have children together. He makes me laugh, he brings me joy, and shows me that my Heavenly Father loves me.

Day 8: Someone who made your life hell, or treated you like crap.
-I had some "bully's" in middle school, but nothing that I really held on to. I have always really been surrounded by positive people, and for that I am grateful.

Day 9: Someone you didn’t want to let go, but just drifted.
-My Best friend Brittany. When I moved to Oregon, it was really hard. We wrote letters, emails, but eventually we just stopped talking. I used to call her every year on her birthday (which is two days after mine) but eventually I just stopped calling. It's been hard, I miss the friendship we had, the bond we had, we were like sisters, but I have faith someday we will find that bond again.

Day 10: Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn’t know.
-Anyone who fell under this category is already gone, thankfully. I moved on from the drama, and the bad ideas, and live a happy life that I am proud of.

Day 11: Something people seem to compliment you the most on.
-Either my hair or my handwriting. (I hate my hair-love my handwriting!)

Day 12: Something you never get compliments on.
-My singing? I suck. Well not really, but It's not awesome.

Day 13: A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough days.
-HA! Um, Backstreet Boys? Taylor Swift? I don't know. Music in general can help me reflect on events in my life. I love it!

Day 14: A hero that has let you down.
-Hmmmm......this is tough. I don't know that I have really had one that has let me down. Hmmmm, may have to come back to this.

Day 3: Something you have to forgive yourself for.

I really don't know what to put here, because I don't feel like I have held on to anything long enough to need to forgive myself for. I think just remembering that I am not perfect helps with that. I don't want to be unhappy ever, so the quicker I forgive myself the better. That's what's worked for me at least.

I love that I own my own home! And I filled it with an amazing man, and two cute puppies, and lots of love. I am pretty impressed that at the age of 23 almost 24, I am a home owner. I think that I owe it all to a financially savvy husband though. But hey! I snagged right?

I hate my weight. Ya, I'm normal. I hate that I am not the same weight as I was when I graduated. I used to be so thin! And a lot has happened since I was 18 but I just wish I had the motivation and the skills to loose some lbs.
I wish I still looked like this:

I really want to look better and feel better. I want to be fit and healthy when I have kids. That's my personal goal.

So far our Fall has included, Jenn's 26th Birthday, a trip to the pumpkin patch at Leipold Farms, carving pumpkins, and a Blazer game! Chris and I have been very busy this, Both working and going to school, taking 12 credits each! I also picked up a second job, part time, helping with an after school program. We are really looking forward to starting up the holidays, which also means my birthday! Can't wait! But here's to a great ending in 2010 and a great beginning in 2011!

Our summer was amazing, It was a huge blessing having Chris home. It was the first summer we have spent together in Oregon in two years! We took advantage of it, we went camping with the Wright family, we spent time with Tim and Jenn @ there cabin in 3 Rivers, at Lake Billy Chinook, and we went to Chris' best friend Erik's wedding. That capped off the summer for us. We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary September 1st and I don't think I could have asked for a better 3 years. It's been challenging at times when we were apart but we pushed through and here we are. Happy to have each other, and still happily in love. It was a beautiful summer, and I am happy I had Chris hear to spend it with!

Although Chris and I have been in our house for over 6 months I am finding things daily I want to change to make our home look more simplistic and elegant. Modern elegance is what I am going for, so here are a couple pictures of the sofa table I redid and the nook I spiced up using my nice new (to me) table, some old picture frames (new pictures), and a letter "W" I modge podged. I love the way it turned out.

After my parents left we went into Gresham and spent the night shooting off fireworks at Chris' parents house. It was a pretty low key day. Monday the 5th, we ended up going to the Gorge with a few of our friends and we did a day hike to Triple Falls. It was super hard for me, but it was still very fun! :) Here are a few picturesfrom the festivities.....on the new BBQ my parents bought us! It was quite the surprise! So, only a few short days until Eclipse comes out! I am making shirts for me and my BIL's Fiancee Jayme. It's become a tradition for us to go to the midnight showing together. So fun! I am glad I have some one cool enough to go sit in a theatre with 50 other screaming teenage girls! Also, with the 4th coming up I started putting up my decorations! So fun! I made the cool pictures, with scrapbook paper and some vinyl for the quote on the outside, it was fun! And I should also mention, Chris & I have been doing little things to add charm to the house, I added to quote and mirrors in the hallway, and we added some solar lights to our front lawn. I think it all turned out very classy! Hope you all have a SAFE & HAPPY 4TH, or as us Hall's know it "Happy Birthday MOM & GRANDMA NENE" (Yes, my mom and her mom were both born on the 4th of July-cool huh?)

Chris and I have done so much, and I have neglected to keep our blog a reflection of that, so ALERT-long post!

So to start, Valentine's Weekend. Chris and I decided we wanted to take a trip, so to the Oregon Coast we went! We stayed at a Shilo Inn in Newport for the weekend, and it was so much fun! We went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium one day which I had never been to, which was so fun! We even went to this fun shop called the "Pirates Plunder" it's a bunch of booths inside a store that people can rent and in the booths are a lot of vintage pieces, old belongings. It was really neat. Chris scored big time and found about 7 Blazer

collectable glasses that Dairy Queen put out in the early 90's. His parents have the glasses and he has always wanted them, so he was very happy to get a set of glasses for himself. We capped off Valentines by going to a delicious Hawaiian restaraunt, known as NoHo's, with a group of our friends. It was yummy! We then went and saw Valentines Day the movie which was so cute! It was an amazing weekend, and I am glad Chris and I treated ourselves to it.

Before Valentines Day though we got some just for fun pictures done by my new friend Capri Bird. She was looking for people who just wanted pictures done for any reason, so she could add some new stuff to her portfolio. So I figured, why not! We got some pictures done with our newest family member Cosmo which was great! I was very happy with how cute they came out.

I am going to end here for now, but I do have to post about our globetrotter game, which was so fun! So until next time!

Here's my twist on this Green Salad with Apples & Toasted Walnuts:

Original Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 cup walnut pieces
2 Granny Smith or other tart apples, cored, halved and thinly sliced
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons minced shallot
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper
1/3 cup olive oil
8 cups mixed salad greensMy Version of a fruity, nutty salad....(I made this for Thanksgiving and Teacher Appreciation Day last year)

Ingredients
1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
1 Anjou pear, thinly sliced and cored
1/4 cup Kraft Raspberry Vinaigrette
1/2 candied walnuts
8 cups Spinach leaves

Well I guess it's about time I give ya'll an update:

Chris is gearing up to end his fire season and head home the first weekend in October (woohoo!). This summer wasn't quite what Chris hoped for but he did make a few trips including one to Montana recently. Chris has enrolled for winter term at MHCC in pursuit of a PA (Physicians Assistant) program transfer degree! He is really looking forward to getting back into school and I couldn't be more proud.

I (Kayleigh) am working at a grade school in gresham, and to say my job in challenging is an understatement. I am working with severe behavioral kids, and I constantly find myself asking if I really was "lucky" to still have a job. But I will overcome this challenge I am sure, it will just be a long school year! :) I am enrolled for Fall term also at MHCC still working towards my transfer degree, working towards a teaching degree at PSU. I will be working 35+ hours a week, and going to school 4 nights a week! AHHHH!! But I've dont it before and I'll do it again!

As for both of us, we have an offer in on a house! Yay! It is a short sale which means it could take up to 6 months to get a yes or no, so in the mean time we are still looking at other houses. But I am keeping my fingers crossed that we hear something soon. The forecloser date is the 24th of September so we hope to hear something soon! So hopefully we will be posting soon with pictures of the house (which needs alot of TLC!!!) But we are still alive and doing well, and happy to see fire season coming to a close! Hope this finds you all well!

Officially 2 years of marriage

Well Tuesday was the day! Chris and I hit the two year mark as husband and wife! It was pretty good night for us. I had to work but we started the afternoon off by signing our sellers acceptance papers on the house we have an offer on, then we just hung out until the evening when we went to Edgefield. I wanted to go there because Transformers 2 was playing and we missed it when it came to Salmon this summer. So we watched Transformers 2 and had some yummy dinner! It was a laid back night but it was just nice to go out with Chris. I really love dates with my husband. It's always romantic. It's crazy to think we have been married 2 years! No kids but we have a dog, no house but hopefully that will change very soon! Anyways, hope you all enjoyed you're summer!

Well it's about that time! On September 1st Chris & I will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. It's so crazy to think about what we've done in the last year, but I am grateful for every moment. Here are a few highlights:

We drove to Yellowstone
We moved to Idaho
We moved back to Oregon
We got our first puppy Apollo
We paid off the jeep a year early
We started looking for our house (we are hoping to buy one shortly after our anniver)
We were in 3 states at once Idaho, Wyoming & Montana (Yellowstone)
Kayleigh finished her first year working for the Gresham Barlow School District
Chris started his 1st year as an apprentice for the forest service
We made a few trips to Missoula
Chris re-enrolled in college and decided on a major (again lol)
We continued to fall more and more in love every day

We couldn't be more happy, and are really looking forward to buying our first home! And into the 3rd year we go!!

Today was a fun day! Chris is on a fire up in Washington so I'm here in Salmon trying to get by until he gets home. Well today some of the crew guys girlfriends called me up to go float the Salmon River! It was a two hour trip by tube and it was just great! Summer in Salmon....and Yellowstone

Let me start off by saying that this summer has been so much better than last summer! It's been so great spending quality time with my husband, and getting to be more involved in his career as a helicopter rappeller. I got to see him rappell a few saturdays ago and it was so cool! I have always been nervous to think my husband rappells down 250+ feet from the sky but seeing it firsthand was so amazing!! I have so much more pride in what my husband does now! Also Chris and I just got back from a trip to Yellowstone National Park and it was so beautiful!! It was so great that Chris couls take a few days of so we could drive there. We saw many bison, dear, and even a black bear cub. We didn't have the best weather there, our first night we slept threw a thunder/lightening storm, and also dealt with strong winds, and some rain. But over all we both had alot of fun and we were grateful for the chance to be so close we could visit the 1st National Park. Salmon has been fun also. The girlfriends and wives of crew members, and crew members themselves have all been so nice! The city of Salmon had a long 4th of July celebration which lasted from the 2nd-5th and is called "Salmon Days". It includes side walk sales, boat races(which were post poned due to the highness of the river), BBQ's a parade and of course fireworks. It was also quite fun to be apart of. Well i'm throwing in some pictures. I'll post more when I am able. Miss all you in Oregon! Be safe!

Well, it has come time to start a new countdown. It is the countdown to when I will be officially moved to Salmon, Idaho and be happily in the arms of my amazing husband. The number is: 33. I have 33 days until everything is perfect again! I am so excited to be moving to Salmon! I'm including a few pictures of the great small town:

Time Flies!

Well Chris flew in Friday, the 1oth, and let me tell ya! It was so great to finally have him home! I was a little bummed because I felt like time flew by and also because I felt like we spent all our time moving! (We packed up most of the apartment to get ready for me to move to be with Chris in Idaho in June) We did have a fun time at the Blazer game though. I'm happy we were able to go, and by the end we were both exhausted and lacking in the voice department. :) BUT well worth it! By the time the 17th rolled around, it was like a whirl wind. To fast! So i'm back to missing my husband, and counting down the days until I move(June 13th). It's fast approaching! Oh and how about this weather eh? Hope this meets you all well, pictures to be added later.

I took Apollo to his first Vet's visit today. What a trooper! I took him to the Pet Store first to get him an early reward, and then we headed to the Vet around 2. While we were there Apollo got his nails cut, he got a check-up and he got all his shots! But what a trooper, he was so well behaved! And then of course he came home and we took a 2 hour nap together! :) Apollo is the best dog ever! I'm so glad we got him, cause he definately gives me something to look forward to coming home to when Chris is gone.

As you may know he's in Idaho, and I'm still here in Oregon. :( But Chris did have a wonderful crew member invite him over and make dinner for him in honor of his birthday, which was nice since I couldn't be there to do that for him. I just wanted to share a picture of Christopher's Jeep top he was able to pick up yesterday. It is pretty sharp looking! And the best part..it was free! And for all those wondering about Chris, he is in Salmon until this Saturday, and then he will be flying to California to start the academy. He will be there aproximately 3-4 weeks and then he will fly home to Oregon to visit! So feel free to leave comments on here for Chris and I'll let him know! Until next time!

Today is a good day!

Well today was great! Chris is such an adorable husband! He called me today to tell me all the great things he got today, perks if you will, when he started work today. He was so excited! Then it got better, a guy Chris works with happens to have an old hard top still in really good condition, that he practically gave Chris! So awesome! As for me, I had my first performance review at my work, and it went sooo good! Way better than I could have ever asked for! It really helped me gain a lot of confidence in my teaching abilities! I was so happy! Overall, despite being apart Chris and I are having a great day. Of course the only thing that could make it better is....if we got to celebrate together. Only 6 weeks until we can! It will fly by, I hope!

Sad day....

Well, sadly, it's that time again. :( My husband will pack up and leave tomorrow. He's driving approximately 12 hours straight through to Salmon, Idaho. To say I'm sad is an understatement, I'm devistated. This sucks! I hate having to send my husband off to another state I'm not in! Coming home to my puppy, no husband, no fun! Believe me, I know it could be worse, at least I know where my husband is, and at least I will get to talk to him everyday. I know, I should count my blessings, but dang it! It's hard! SO if I seem a little off, or seem a little sad, just know I really really miss my husband and I am just counting down the days until I get to have him back at home. (6weeks until his next visit)

Seeing as how we just celebrated Valentine's Day and my dear sweet husband is getting things together to go to Cali for his Fire Training Academy I started looking threw our wedding pictures. I feel like every time I look threw our pictures from that amazing day I fall in love with Chris all over again. I'm already starting to get sad, I hate having to watch my husband leave, but I am also getting excited because this summer I will actually get to stay with him. So, Chris & I just got back form our tax person, and we couldn't be any happier with how it all turned out! Today has been a truly good day :) We had a very informative tax guy who really got us our maximum money back! Have I said enough how good today is? I'm so excited! And for all you wondering, the countdown has begun, Chris is leaving in less than a month. We are going to make the best of it though, especially with Valentine's Day coming up. Hey anyone from Gresham! I am kind of throwing this out there because otherwise I am kind of lost at how to find this out.....
When Chris and I move home from Idaho at the end of August we would love to rent a space from some one in the area, we are hoping to rent a full basement that is being currently left unused or a mother in law suite or something of that sort. We are hoping to do this so we don't have to sign a new lease some where and so that we can keep a majority of our belongings in storage until we move again in June next year or if we buy a house sooner. Just wanted to throw this out there, let me know if anyone has the space or you know someone looking for some extra money this winter! Thanks for spreading the word! Much appreciated!

Bittersweet

So as the year slowly progresses I'm getting a little bit more sad by the day. Why you may ask? Well my husband is leaving again for work March 1st. I'm so bummed! I've loved every second of him being home and I feel like I just got him, but already I am loosing him again. I really lucked out with this amazing man. He continues to amaze me every single day. I am so in love with him and my love grows with each and every day. I have truly found my soulmate and I find new reasons everyday as to why I love him sooooo much! It just sucks that he will be gone again soon, and that he'll be gone over his birthday(which bums me out even more). But at least this summer I will get to move to his summer home as I like to call it. I will be moving after schools out to Salmon to live with my hubby until school starts again. I'm really excited that I am able to do this, last summer was the hardest summer of my life. I have never missed anyone as much as I missed my husband last summer. I'm looking forward to living in a small town and for getting the chance to learn even more then I already do about my hubby. It will be so great for our marriage as a chance to bond even more and it will be kind of cool to meet a new ward. As valentines day comes I will be happy to spend it with my hubby and I will be thanking my heavenly father for allowing me the chance to spend that day with the greatest husband in the world. After a week of almost non-stop snow, the delightful Oregon rain has returned, Thank goodness! I took my truck out tonight for the first time in two weeks. It was nice to drive again. So tonight our friends Tim & Jenn lost power. We found out they only had two candles in there entire house so we braved the elements to bring them candles & play a few rounds of apples to apples. Playing apples to apples in candlelight is super fun! We then went on a drive to Burger King and game back to our apartment for some eating & heat! :) Tonight was fun! I just hope we don't loose our power tonight! The snow has stopped for now but we have easily have 10-12 inches of snow. The roads are a little dangerous, but the jeep handled them like a champ! Hope this reaches all of our loved ones with lots of warmth! 4 days til Christmas!

Or atleast that's what many of the Oregonian's and Washatonian's would say. Airlines are shut down, food supplies are running low, and people are really really....bored. He he. Church was cancelled for us today, and people around us are slowly loosing power. This is a full fledged snow storm. I've included some pictures from the local TV station of how bad this snow really is. Were just praying now to keep power all night! They are now saying that this storm might be here threw Christmas! No fun! Hope this reaches my fellow homies here in Oregon well! I hope you're all safe and warm! To my family in Texas, and other states Merry Christmas.
